Chapter 13: Let it out Part 2

Hi y'all. This chapter is really too long, and i'll just apologize for that now. I've I had this written for about two months now and I wanted to add to it but everything I wrote was just not fitting. So I didn't even want to hold it another month and have y'all continue to wait. I don't even know if anyone reads this still, but I hope y'all do because I have great things in store for the story :) Enjoy the chap and if you have any thoughts on anything please comment. It helps me a lot. But since It's been a while Im not gonna be pushy about it.
- Jodi

It was dark in the studio, as Nicki sat relaxed listing to a new beat. It was 6pm now. She'd stayed later than she expected, and Wayne had already left her to catch a flight, so it was just her in and Rick. She wasn't sure why, but she'd always wanted to cover drake's Marvin's room. Her mixtape clearly came secondary to her album, but moments like this she didn't want to create an all new song. She wanted her view to be shown, on songs she felt touched by.
She sat there with her elbows on the table and her hands clasped around her forehead. She was in deep thought. She wasn't in a dark place now, but not too long ago she was, and this song was bringing some of those emotions back. She wasn't sure how long this happiness would last, but she was hoping for  forever.
"You ready?" Rick said turning around in his chair.
She looked up at him.
"Yea..." She answered in a faint voice.
She pushed herself away from the table and got up to walk into the booth. As The door shut behind her she placed her note pad on the Music sheet stand, and lightly placed the headphones over her head. She moved her messy bun out the way so it could lay flat. She looked out the window to James giving her a thumbs up signaling that he's starting the music. When the beat began to play she mimicked the woman's voice in the beginning of the song.
"Hello?.....yea I just left the shoot....
I never went to bed...you said you were gonna stop by....oh... it's cool I was busy anyway..." She stopped and lifted one Side of the headphone off her ear.
"How'd that sound?" She asked Rick.
He worked a couple controls up and down on the wide control board.
"It sounds great. You didn't miss a beat."
"Alright! Run it back for me and imma just add on to it!" She said writing more lyrics to her note pad.
Rick did as told, and she got into the song more and more as the mellow beat spoke to her soul. Rick could tell she had a lot to say on this track by how fast she was writing lyrics down, and recording them right there and then. She'd taken off her velvet jumpsuit jacket and wrapped it around her waist. Leaving herself in a whites V-neck t-shirt. She scribbled out some words, and replaced them with new ones. She began to sing the chorus mimicking drake's original melody.
"Fuck this new dude that you seem to be, I know times have changed but that don't mean so do we,"she sang.
She was a little more than half way through the song when she was out of lyrics.

She slid the headphones off her head and placed them on the Stand and came out the booth. Rick did what he usually does as she walked back over to her chair. Her phone lit up from a text notification. She has missed a whole conversation in the group chat with Sherika, Candi & TT.
She didn't feel like reading all the messages, so she interrupted them.
"Y'all blowing up my phone what are you guys talking about?"
Immediately they responded
Rikaaaaaaaa: Nicholas you're talking to us again!
Nicki'sTT: well look who finally decided to come out of hiding. CandiStripper: you been lowkey for a whole 72hrs and that's how you greet us? Girl bai.
Nicki's mouth dropped dramatically, and type back.
"Wow you guys are rude, only person happy to hear from me is Rika; barely."
CandiStripper: bitch...pls
Nicki'sTT: whatever.
Rikaaaaaaaa: if I wasn't happy to hear from you why would I be inviting you to my place for girls night? Oh okay.
"Oooooo girls night. It's been forever since the last one, I wanna come! What time?"
CandiStripper: nah you can stay home.
Nicki'sTT: Oop.
Rikaaaaaaaa: lmfao Candi stop! But 7:30, imma cook some curry chicken!
"Ok I'm definitely coming. I'm at the studio right now, Imma pack up now and I'll see y'all there."
CandiStripper: aight
Rikaaaaaaaa: kk
Nicki'sTT: ok. Candi I'll call you when I'm near your hotel.
Nicki locked her phone since the conversation was over. She pushed away from the table, and slid her jacket back on. She gathered her notepad and pen and stuffed it in her large Louis V bag. She grabbed her phone and was about to head out the door her phone buzzed again. It wasn't the girls though, it was Tony.
Tony: "hey Nicole, you wanted to meet up again and talk? I'm free now, you want me to stop by?"
She bit the inside of her lip thinking about her reply. It was evident he'd taken a liking to her just by how supportive he's been. But Nicki was slightly uncomfortable that he already felt okay with dropping by the house. She knew he was a nice guy, no doubt about it, but this friendship has blossomed faster than Nicki had expected. She was soon going to set the standard straight.
Nic: "Hey TonyTone! I'm actually not home, in kinda busy so I'll hit you up when I'm free. Thanks." And with that she ended the convo. She was ready to stop being called Nicole. He'd only seen her in her natural state. so that's probably why he hadn't made the connection. She hadn't debuted her new natural look to the world yet. But she didn't feel like dealing with that right now. She just wanted to chill with her girls. She told Rick she was done for the day and walked out letting the big wooden door shut behind her.

The time seemed to be crunching faster and faster as Safaree rushed his way to the average sized building. He briefly checked the time on his golden Rolex. It read '6:55'. He had five minutes to spare, if he was going to make it. He parked and hopped out his car entering the semi circle waiting room. He heading to the first window he saw, but it seemed to be closed. So he took a step back taking in the view of all for windows and no one was there. He quickly checked his watch again and it now read '6:58'. He frantically banged on the window calling out how much time left till closing. After is seconding calling a slim elderly Indian woman approached from a side door towards the window. She asked him what he would need like she did with everyone. He informed her it would be a deposit, and She nodded in comprehension as she typed a couple things in her assigned desktop computer. Safaree shuffled through his pockets too pull out his hefty leather wallet. The woman behind the counter's over worked demeanor had changed when she saw the Wad of money Safaree had retrieved from his wallet.
"That's 500,000." He informed the woman.
Her eyes widened. She straightened her posture trying not to make her astonishment visible.
"You can count it later if you want, but it's five hundred thousand. Trust me."
She gave him a slight nod of relief. Setting the wad of money aside she slid his ID and credit card back through the metal fixture between the glass and Safaree.
He received it, and put the cards in his wallet. And with that he left without formally dismissing himself.
